CURRICULUM FOCUS
Chaffey Secondary College aims to provide students with a broad curriculum in Years 7 and 8 which builds a
foundation for successful lifelong learning.
Year 7 Transition to Secondary
Students enter into Year 7 and have the opportunity to establish strong relationships with a small group of teachers who teach several subjects across the curriculum. Students complete subjects across eight learning areas of the curriculum. Participation in English, Mathematics, Humanities, Health and Physical Education, Languages, Technology and the Arts provides students with the opportunity to build foundation skills and knowledge for future years. Students select one language they will continue over Year 7 and 8.
Year 8 Developing Breadth and Depth
Year 8 students participate in subjects across each of the eight learning areas: English, Mathematics, Humanities, Health and Physical Education, Languages, Technology and the Arts. This allows students to further develop their skills in specific areas, while continuing to learn across a broad curriculum. Students will continue to learn the same language, as selected in Year 7.
