Year 7 and 8

CURRICULUM FOCUS
Chaffey Secondary College aims to provide students with a broad curriculum in Years 7 and 8 which builds a
foundation for successful lifelong learning.

Year 7 Transition to Secondary

Students will enter into Year 7 and be given the opportunity to establish strong relationships with a small group of teachers who will teach several subjects across the curriculum. Students will complete subjects in all eight key learning areas of the curriculum. Participation in English, Mathematics, Humanities, Physical Education and Health, Languages, Design and Technology and the Arts provides students the opportunity to build foundation skills and knowledge for future years.

Year 8 Developing Breadth and Depth

Year 8 students will participate in subjects across each of the eight key earning areas. This gives students an opportunity to further develop their skills in specific areas, whilst continuing to learn across a broad
curriculum. Students will select one language to follow throughout the year. In semester 2 students will be given choice in The Arts and Design and Technology learning areas.
